Manufactured in 1961, in Belgium with a Broadway Superposed vent rib barrel. Dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib which is mounted on a nicely figured, checkered beavertail forearm. Underside of bottom barrel is unusually marked "SUPERPOSED 12GA BV LYNDEN WA". Coin finished and walnut stock. This superbly engraved Diana grade features the classic game scene engravings of ducks at a wooded pond on the right, four pheasants in a wooded scene on the left and two quail on the underside of the frame and a pair of standing rabbits on the trigger guard. These game scenes are bordered with wonderfully executed floral scroll engraving with the engravers signature "J Baerten" on the left and right side. Single selective inertia trigger and a top tang mounted safety selector switch and engraved hardware and nicely figured European walnut stock with adjustable comb, fine checkered pistol grip stock with a brown rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain 85% original blue with some wear at muzzle, light scratches, rubs on various areas of barrel and rib. Forend with some handling marks. Stock has been customized or replaced with adjustable comb, with some handling marks, gaps in wood to metal fit at trigger guard and tang. Top left horn has been cut. Mechanically good. CP
