Only 3,000 of these interesting cartridge pepperboxes were made. This one retains considerable original blue on barrels, especially in recesses, and still retains its original removable ejector rod (most are missing or modern replacements). Hammer retains traces of original finish. Brass frame with a few minor marks, but very crisp. Rupertus patent 1864 marks. Rosewood grips with slight wear at toe and strong traces of original varnish. Action works fine. Loading gate is missing retaining spring. A particular good example of this particular pepperbox. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
