One of the rarer and more desirable of these extremely scarce secondary martial pistols, recorded contract for Joseph Henry indicated 150 pairs for 1807 and 600 pairs for 1808, quantities delivered not know. The barrel is deeply struck properly with eagle head and P in cartouche, and J. Henry PHILA. Small brass fore sight. The lock is deeply struck with J. HENRY PHILA US. The stock has vestigial cartouches could be brought up with a little solvent. Brass regulation Joseph Henry contract mounts. CONDITION: Barrel has coat of brown applied later. The lock has coat of brown applied later as well. Pistol possibly a reconversion, but if so, extremely well done. Action works perfectly. Full stock shows wear and a tight crack behind the brass side plate. Bore is fine for one of these. Ramrod is a modern replacement. An extremely scarce and desirable martial pistol.
