Standard configuration with right side of ricasso marked "U.S. / (Eagle Head) / NO 13", left side with "L.F. (Flaming Bomb) & C / 1918". CONDITION: Blade is a smooth mixture of bright steel and some grey staining. Legends are sharp, although portions of the flaming bomb are no longer visible. Cup with some marks from handling and use. Scabbard is good, complete, with throat with black paint flaking away to oxidized metal. Olive drab green painted canvas body, and metal drag with more flaking to metal. A nice example of the last saber used by the US Army. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of George M. Rapport. EW.
