Curved 35 - 3/4" blade with partial double fuller running approximately 3/4 of the blade length. Right side of ricasso marked "US / A.D.K.", left side marked "AMES MFG.CO./ CABOTVILLE / 1850". Standard three branch guard. Pommel marked "A.D.K." Double braided brass wire wrap. Plain steel scabbard with two hangers and "A.D.K." on drag, visible but diminutive weld line. CONDITION: Good. Blade has been cleaned over pitting with scattered areas remaining. One 10" section of blade approximately 2/3 of the way up the blade has significant pitting. Guard is good and has acquired a lovely dark yellow color with some marks and nicks from handling and use. Wire grip is intact but there is a 3/4" crack in the leather on the left side, running underneath the wire. Scabbard is good with an even brown patina, and good traces of gilding most notable in protected areas. No dents in the scabbard. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of George M. Rapport. EW.
