A fine .410 gauge boxlock side by side built in 1911. Handsome blued 26 inch barrels with solid concave rib, doll's head extension and round steel front bead sight. Rib engraved "JOSEPH LANG & SON, 102 NEW BOND STREET. LONDON" with 2 - 1/2 inch chambers, ejectors, London proofs on flats. Choked full/full. Lightly border and scroll engraved receiver signed "JOSEPH LANG & SON" on each side, disc set strikers, double triggers and automatic safety on tang. Long blacked trigger guard and bottom tang with serial number. Checkered splinter forend with Anson release and a beautifully figured European walnut straight hand diamond grip stock with blank gold oval and checkered butt. Stock measures: drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 14 1 /8 inches, weight 4 lbs. 5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. 90% plus refinished blue barrels with the remains of some light scratches and nicks and marks. The receiver has an attractive silver/gray patina with traces of original case colors in the protected areas and some light spotting. The refinished wood is fine with well defined, crisp checkering, small dings, and a few small gaps around the tangs and frame. Forend with very strong and well disguised repaired top left edged.
