This gun has been completely disassembled and each part examined as follows; high wood with oval transition sling cut that is stamped S-HM with ordnance wheel, barrel stamped Inland and dated 12-43, hand guard is a 2 rivet stamped S-HB, flat bolt stamped S, trigger housing stamped S and number 2 6 -A, hammer stamped HI, trigger stamped S W, rod/slide stamped S 104, S stamped on Type 1 rear sight. Metal is excellent with most of the arsenal finish. Wood is also excellent with few handling marks. Blue magazine stamped UN. Bore is sharp as is action. Fine mid war M1 carbine. DB
