Offered is a pair of Colt 1860 .44 caliber Army revolvers both made in 1862 with all standard features such as rebated cylinders with naval scene and both are cut for shoulder stocks. Both appear to be factory or at least period plated with varnished one piece walnut grips. (A) Serial number 40909 has all matching numbers with the exception of the misnumbered wedge. (B) Serial number 74842 has all matching numbers including the wedge but you cannot read the cylinder number. CONDITION: Both guns are completely plated and appears to be factory as legends are sharp. Both suffer from overall age freckling which makes the cylinder scene hard to see. (A) Indexes and locks up perfectly with a strong but somewhat dirty bore. (B) Indexes at times and not at others. This bore also has sharp rifling but does have some rust spots. They appear to have been a matched finish set and the condition on both matches as well. Probable special civilian order. Scarce set of matching plated Colt 1860 Army revolvers. DB
