The short and heavily engraved barrel is elegantly fluted at breech, integral back sight, engraving of foliage between the wedding bands. Signed Stirling just behind the muzzle, which has three finely executed wedding bands. Steel full stock unadorned. Lock with rudimentary engraving and signature "JO Christie". Diminutive steel belt hook pierced and writhen. Lobe butt with no decoration. Pumpkin shaped ball trigger with no decoration. Plain steel ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel is good with crisp engraving and only minor pitting. Stock is good with some old pitting under new cleaning. Belt hook in similar condition to stock. Lock with clearly visible John Christie signature. Hammer with fracture and considerable restoration. Frizzen cracked. Action is good but will not hold on cock. Bore is fine. Because of its diminutive size, this is an extremely rare all steel Scottish flintlock belt pistol. MZ
