According to the factory letter, number 344914 was shipped to famed Texas dealers Wolf & Klar on February 3, 1925 in a one gun shipment. It is listed as a .44 caliber with a 7 - 1/2" barrel and standard blue finish. Grips are not listed, and it now sports a beautiful pair of fleur-de-lis checkered walnut stocks with deep set silver Colt medallions. CONDITION: The barrel and cylinder show some usual minor handling marks but retains at least 98% original factory blue finish. The straps retain approximately the same amount which indicates very little use or wear. The frame retains at least 95% color mixing with some light patina. Grips are excellent. The action is as smooth as butter. The rifling is sharp. Simply a nice, high condition, Texas shipped .44 Colt. DB
