This small iron cannon could have been used as a ships signal gun, or for landing party defense. Carriage and wheels are possibly of more recent manufacture than the tube, however the wheel mounts are original and are of hand forged iron. Measurements: Wood wheels measure 6 - 1/4", Tube measures 12 - 1/2"long with a 1 - 1/2" diameter bore. CONDITION: Tube, mounts, and wheel mounts all retain a dark brown heavy patina with some corrosion overall. Carriage and wheels are very good with a dark surface. A nice crudely made, probably American cannon. Circa 1790-1840.

Condition: VERY GOOD.
19TH CENTURY IRON CANNON ON WOOD CARRIAGE.
