H&R produced approximately 54,000 of these guns between 1921 and the passage of the National Firearms Act in 1934. Very popular for both home defense and the hunting of small game, it's no wonder why so many of these were produced. There are also numerous small variations, making these fun and interesting to collect. Marked with the Harrington & Richardson address on the right side of the receiver, "H&R HANDY-GUN" on the left side. Barrel is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. 410 GA. CHOKE". Blued barrel with a case colored frame. Checkered wood grip, plain wood forend. This gun is interesting in that it lacks the tail on the stock as is commonly found to stabilize the pistol in the shooter's hand. This gun has not been modified, and was made this way. Even more interestingly, there is a tail on the rear of the trigger guard. This is the first time this cataloger has seen this variation. CONDITION: Fine with 85% striped case colors on frame. 90% barrel blue. All markings are clear. Wood has some light handling marks with strong checkering. Bore is fine. Fine mechanical function. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM WILL INCUR A $5.00 TRANSFER TAX IF TRANSFERRED ON AN ATF FORM 4. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 CLASSIFIED AS "ANY OTHER WEAPON". GR
