In 2012, the engraving firm Adams & Adams created a total of 35 special commemorative Model 1860 percussion revolvers; one for each state that fought in the war and one for the District of Columbia. This is the gun made for New York; the design and engraving was hand done by master engraved John J. Adams, Sr. The pattern is based on an 1860 Army presented to General U.S. Grant. Decorated for the Union on the left side and the Confederacy on the right. Each gun used an original 1860 Army for its basis and was engraved in the style of Gustav Young in the spirit of the "Tears of Gettysburg" revolver. Each revolver is hand fitted with carved ivory stocks with high relief "US" and "CS" on respective panels and is finished in blue and cased colored finish by Doug Turnbull Restorations. Includes a letter from John Adams listing this gun by serial number as being gun 12 of 35 New York list, ivory was supplied by Nutmeg Sports; case was made by Duncan Eberhart, noted master Pennsylvania furniture maker. Gun features nearly full coverage engraving including the rebated Naval scene cylinder. Trigger guard is marked "12 of 35". Frame is signed by engraved "J ADAMS". Backstrap is engraved "NEW YORK". CONDITION: As new, unfired condition. With a total of 35 made, and this being the only one made for New York, makes it a very special, one of a kind hand engraved revolver in the original black powder series. Manufactured 1978 to 1984 (early 2nd Generation), a continuation of the original 1860's series made to the same high standards but with better steel. Comes with all receipts and an article in original cardboard box with matching numbers. Simply breathtaking. DB
