Standard 1861 model configuration. Lock is dated 1864 at the rear. Has the usual James D. Mowry markings. The "VP eaglehead" proof on the barrel is worn and pitted but present. No date visible on barrel. The rear sight appears to be a correct replacement. There is a groove in the top of the barrel and tang, most likely for sighting. Buttplate is unmarked. Ramrod appears to be a blacksmith made replacement. CONDITION: Good with a pleasing patina and light to moderate pitting. Lock markings are worn but legible. Stock is very worn with no visible cartouches, with a repaired break through the wrist. Bore has pitting with good rifling. Lock is in fine working order. GR
