An eared crest rail of early form with a carved oval shell of fully developed type. A broad vertically pierced splat with boldly molded seat rails supports a slip seat. The front rail is enhanced with a scallop shell and slender cabriole legs of early form with shell carved knees, terminating in pad feet. CONDITION: Seat frames replaced. One with partial splat replaced and rear leg and stile repaired. Both with repairs to back of crest at splat. PROVENANCE: Joe Kindig Antiques.
