H&R produced approximately 54,000 of these guns between 1921 and the passage of the National Firearms Act in 1934. Very popular for both home defense and the hunting of small game, it's no wonder why so many of these were produced. There are also numerous small variations, making these fun and interesting to collect. This is one of the few produced in 28 gauge, with the majority of production being in .410. Marked with the Harrington & Richardson address on the right side of the receiver, this gun also has H.&R. "HANDY GUN" marked on the left side. Barrel is marked "28 GAUGE" on the top. Blued barrel with a case colored frame. Checkered wood grip, plain wood forend. CONDITION: Very good with traces of case colors and distinct "stripes" on frame. 80% barrel blue. All markings are clear. Wood has some light handling mark with sharp checkering. Bore is fine. Fine mechanical function.
