After the United States entry into WWII, it became apparent that the Model 1918 BAR could not maintain a high enough rate of sustained fire as the opposing German military's MG-34 and MG-42. Thus the 1919A6 was produced and saw its first combat usage in 1943. Its use was continued until the introduction of the M60 in 1957. This example retains its original components including the bolt, removable stock, bipod, and muzzle booster. Receiver has been replaced with a near identical steel dummy receiver. Metal components retain a green parkerized finish aside from the aluminum pistol grip. Right side of receiver is marked "NO00250/BROWNING MACHINE GUN/ US. CAL .30 M1919A4/ MFG INLAND". Chamber is welded and trigger does not function. CONDITION: Metal components retain majority of applied parkerized finish, with majority of wear being on the stock, bipod, and muzzle booster. Wood carry handle shows few minor handling marks. Overall, this a fine display specimen of America's widely recognized 1919 variations, and is sure to be a fine addition to any display. MW
