An improved version of the earlier Czech ZB-26, the ZB-30J and its earlier variations were the precursors of easily recognizable guns such as the British Bren and Japanese Type 96 light machine guns. Many ZB-30's were issued to occupying German SS and Wehrmacht forces who designated it the "MG30(t)" during World War II. This example was manufactured by Brno (later designated "Brunn" by the German military) and has had its receiver cut and expertly welded back together and smoothed out. Manufacturer markings on left side of receiver have been partially obliterated. Yugoslavian crest of top of receiver is sharp. Chamber has been welded. Markings on stock are clear and legible. External numbers are not matching. Bolt is not present. CONDITION: Metal components retain a good amount of blue finish with areas of loss and wear scattered all around. Welds have been reblued and blend in nicely. Stock shows minor wear and handling marks, and retains most of its applied varnish. MW
