The base of this German Third Reich Decorative Tapestry is made of a woven red dyed wool. Two areas of staining can be seen below the eagle, and another lighter colored mark above the eagle. The rest of the base material appears to be untouched. The edges of the tapestry are lined with an intricate cream colored braid, which terminates into the fringed lower section. Two brass rings can be observed in the upper corners of the tapestry, for the purpose of hanging it. The central eagle is separately machine sewn to the base. The eagle appears to be hand painted to a cotton woven base. It is expertly made and appears to be, without a doubt, constructed and assembled during the Third Reich. A few areas of paint loss can be observed on the eagle. While the intended use of this tapestry is unknown, it can be confidently theorized that it most likely is of an earlier, pre-war production and was crafted by old world talent and skill.
