Lot consists of: (A) German M31 Canteen, (B) K98 Bayonet, (C) Assault Frame Webbing, (D) Marching Boots, (E) K98 Ammo Pouch Set, (F) American Training Tellermine. (A) The German M31 Canteen is missing its cup. The outer wool cover is intact without any visible damage, and is marked “C&C”. The “C&C,W 42” marked leather straps are intact, supple, and without any damage. The canteen is made of aluminum and is marked “C&C,W 43”. This Canteen is unissued. CONDITION: Overall near mint. (B) The K98 Bayonet is complete with frog. The blade of the bayonet is still nicely blued, with only light runner marks. The blade is marked “Clemens and Jung”, and also the number “7289” which matches the “7289” stamped on the scabbard of the set, making this a matching set. The Bakelite grips show scattered light marks throughout with no major damage. The bayonet release button is stamped with the Waffenampt number “WaA254”. The scabbard retains 95% of its original bluing, with scattered light marks throughout. The scabbard is marked “7289” which matches that on the blade. The leather frog has scattered light marks throughout and is still very pliable. CONDITION: The blade rates excellent+, the scabbard rates excellent, the frog rates excellent, overall condition is excellent to excellent+. (C) The Assault Frame is made of simple webbed fabric and leather, which is riveted together using aluminum rivets. No major damage can be seen. Scattered light marks throughout. Leather is pliable. Frame is maker marked and dated “1940”. CONDITION: Excellent+. (D) The Marching Boots are made of leather and show signs of heavy use. Period repairs can be seen throughout. Leather is pliable. Hobnails, toe and heel irons have developed some surface rust. CONDITION: Good. (E) The K98 Ammo Pouch Set is made of leather. The set is not an exact match, but look very close when next to each other. No major damage can be seen. Each set has an RB Number stamp on the reverse. Each pouch shows signs of light use. CONDITION: Excellent. (F) The American Training Tellermine retains approximately 90% of its original green paint. The word “DUMMY” can be seen stenciled on the bottom of the mine, indicating it was used for training purposes. A training fuse is intact underneath of the removal pressure plate. CONDITION: Excellent. D.W.
