Third Reich Polizei double decal transitional helmet with no visible markings. Markings may be obscured because of the reissue paint, or the addition of new chinstrap mounting hardware which might have covered the them. Shell retains 90-95% of its reissued smooth apple green paint, with worn areas exposing its original earlier paint of a dark gray green. Interior retains approximately 97% of its smooth green finish, with dust and dirt in the center area. Polizei decal is in approximately 95% condition with the required era coat of lacquer, which shows up nicely with a black light. Third Reich Party decal is in 65-70% condition, also with the required era applied lacquer. Original World War I era Model 1916 steel band is present and is untouched. Liner assembly, consisting of 3 filled pads, is untouched, in a light brown color, and is in great condition. Some sign of markings are present, and the liner tongues have era-added rivets with a drawstring made of two strands of twine. The liner pads have a very light spray line of the helmet's smooth green near where they mount to the liner band. Interesting original leather chinstrap with a black painted steel buckle is present, though it appears one end has been damaged and repaired. CONDITION: Overall excellent plus overall, and is a very interesting helmet. WZ
