Manufactured by DWM in the interim between World War I & World War II, many of these pistols were chambered in .30 Luger to comply with the Treaty of Versailles and exported to various nations for commercial sales. While many were newly manufactured, some examples were military reworks, and were scrubbed of their military proofmarks. This example has no date of manufacture marking over the chamber and only retains the "DWM" monogram on the toggle, as well as the vertical crown "N" nitro proof on the left of the receiver. Matching numbers include the frame, barrel, trigger, trigger sideplate, locking bolt, and recoil lever. Checkered walnut grips are unnumbered. Germany import stamp present on the front of frame and on bottom of magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of applied blue finish. Strawed components retain little finish and show thinning all around. Bore is bright, with small areas of cleaned pitting on the lands and grooves. Checkered wood grips are excellent, showing little smoothing and wear to checkering. Overall, a fine interwar manufactured Luger. MW
