1876 vintage First Model 1873 saddle ring carbine. 20" round barrel with full length magazine tube. Front barrel band with integral front sight. Fold down two leaf rear barrel sight. Staple with saddle ring on left side of frame. Blue with case hardened lever and hammer. Mortised dust cover with checkered "thumbprint". Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Carbine style buttplate with trapdoor. Complete with original three piece cleaning rod. Plain trigger. CONDITION: Fine overall with 80-85% original blue on barrel and magazine tube. 75-80% original blue on frame. Traces of case color on lever and hammer. Wood is sound with the stock showing moderate wear and forearm showing moderate to heavy wear. Bore is excellent, bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Overall an above average first model saddle ring carbine. -MKS-
