1890 vintage Model 1873 rifle. 24" full octagon barrel. Full length magazine tube. Rifle style crescent buttplate with trapdoor and four piece sectional Winchester cleaning rod. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Chambered in desirable .44-40 cartridge. Plain trigger. Standard sights. Blue with case hardened lever, hammer, and buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent plus overall. 97-98% thinning original blue on barrel and magazine tube. 97-98% original blue on frame with light freckling. Strong case color on hammer. Traces of case color on lever, mostly brown patina. Traces of case color on buttplate, mostly brown patina. Excellent bore, bright and clean. Excellent wood showing modest wear. Action is tight and crisp. Overall a high condition Model 1873 chambered in the most desirable caliber and configuration. -MKS-
