Designed by Dutch engineer Carl Norden circa 1930. This is a Norden MK XV bombsight used throughout World War II and up to even Vietnam in America's aerial bombing campaigns with one of the most famous being the atomic bomb dropping on Hiroshima by the B-29 "Enola Gay". Bombsight Serial number "N 11444" comes with an assortment of needed items both of World War II Era and newer, including a portable tachometer made by "Jaeger Watch Co." and dated 1945, military marked Elgin stop watch, Roller-Smith "PDI" meter, Polaroid lens filter kit in original box and tangent scales for automatic bombing computer from the late 1940's. Auto pilot has serial number "R-1681". Sight has added Maxson reflex sight. Serial number "8111" which was known to be fitted on B-29s. Comes with original training manuals from the 1940s plus several reprints from a later date. CONDITION: Sight is in overall good condition with no dings or scratches. Lens appears clear with visible crosshair. Manuals not torn and are in good condition with some having pencil bombardier's notes on. Great display piece for the World War II Airwar enthusiast. DLM
