Lot consist of: (A) Winchester Model 1873 saddle ring carbine. Manufactured in 1891. Rifle retains its original sliding dust cover. Loading gate looks to have been replaced. Rear sight is not original to the rifle. Winchester markings on the barrel are almost completely worn off. Metal appears to have some kind of clear finish on it. Stock was refinished at one point in time. CONDITION: Overall fair. Metal retains little to none of its original finish with a general patina covering most of the metal surfaces. Some minor pitting on the barrel and stock line. Stock is fair with numerous dings, scratches and handling marks. Bore is dirty with some workable rifling left. Mechanically fine. (B) Winchester Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine. Manufactured in 1882. Rifle retains its original sliding dust cover. Iron frame. Original rear sight. A previous owners initials have been carved into the stock and the side of the frame. CONDITION: Overall fair. Metal retains little to none of its original finish. There are a few areas of heavy cleaning and polish. Wood is fair with numerous dings and scratches. Bore is frosted with poor rifling. Mechanically fine. JA
