98k manufactured by Mauser in 1940. Receiver ring has early Mauser "42" code above "1940". Matching components include receiver, barrel, bolt, bolt stop, rear sight ladder, magazine follower, barrel bands, bayonet lug, floorplate, trigger guard, buttplate, and stock. "WaA655" waffenamt found on stock with "655" waffenamt on metal components. Front sight hood is not present. Complete with cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of bluing with most areas showing thinning and wear with patina showing through. Stamps on metal components are crisp. Stocks are very good showing minor handling marks all around. Chip at front barrel band release spring. Stock stamps are clear and legible, aside from the serial number which is legible but worn. Mirror bore with strong and defined rifling throughout. Mechanically excellent.
