Box has beautiful graphics of Toots and Casper's child, Buttercup, and her pet dog Spare-Ribs, marked "Copyright King Features Syndicate", also marked on corner of box "Jimmy Murphy", who is the creator of the comic strip. Box has great litho of Buttercup on floor playing with Spare-Ribs and on side panels her trying to pull the dog along by leash. Toy itself is all tin-litho and when pulled, shows Spare-Ribs' head going up and down while Buttercup chases him with broom in right hand. Nice depiction of characters on sides of platform. Toy also marked "Buttercup and Spare-Ribs Copyuright by Jimmy Murphy" on front and rear of base, also has the Nifty trademark. CONDITION: Box is crisp and complete with great color graphics on all sides and one of the nicest early comic character boxes ever made. Litho on toy is shiny and bright. Box and toy are near mint condition. Could possibly be the best example known. From the Jeff Landes Collection.
