First is a pre-war Donald Duck nodder, tin base, celluloid body and head, operated by rubber band mechanism and with counterweight on side to balance head, which nods up and down. Still has import sticker on right-rear of toy. Long bill Donald Duck. Second is a scarce variation long bill Donald Duck made in occupied Japan, marked "Made in Occupied Japan" on left-rear of toy. Tin-litho base, tin wheels, celluloid stand, celluloid figure with umbrella and balls. Donald Duck in standing pose. When wound, whirligig spins and toy moves forward on base. CONDITION: Pre-war nodder has only slight aging to hat. Overall condition of lot is excellent. From the Jeff Landes Collection.
