Just about impossible to find out on the loose away from a gun, this is an original German WW2 FG-42 handguard. Original proofmark is visible on front, metal reinforcement clearly visible when viewed from either end. When one examines this part it is impossible not to be impressed with the workmanship and care that went into its manufacture. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent original, unsanded and unmessed with. Some light dings, bruises, and handling marks with a sliver out of the inside top front area of the charging handle slot. Not noticeable unless specifically looking at the handguard off the gun. Fantastic piece for the advanced collector who wants to upgrade their current handguard, or simply display showing the manufacturing techniques in play during World War II. JWK 2020-05-047
