Both signed lower right. Zorn was reared in the rural Swedish province of Dalarna. A chance meeting with Isabella Stewart Gardiner initiated a long friendship and patronage. In November of 1893, the Frederick Keppel Gallery on East 16th Street in New York City held the first American exhibition of Zorn's work and ignited Zorn's popularity in this country. Not examined out of frame.Dal River label on reverse from Staton Brothers, Philadelphia identifies this as an artist proof. Some toning. Girl with Guitar label on reverse Newman Galleries, Philadelphia.
