Barrels numbered "1" "2" "3", moving right to left, top to bottom. Fourth barrel is unmarked, but appears period, may be period replacement for a damaged barrel. Barrels are false rifled, with "rifling" ending approximately half way down, to assist in barrel removal. Breeches at top engraved "1" "2", corresponding to barrel numbers. Bottom breeches engraved with simple line floral rather than numbers. Left and right sides of action engraved with a flaming torch, rams horns, and border engraving. Tang with some light scroll engraving. Locks have safety notches in the back and pans have small safety notch in base, but sliding safety does not engage, needs adjustment. Small "ELG" stamp on left side, near barrel 3. Trigger guard engraved with a small floral with eight points coming off. Grip with slightly raised section near lock engraved with florals, skipline checkering with each square having a small pin running through to other side, and reinforced with a larger pin towards top. Backstrap is studded and scalloped on each side of each stud. Octagonal tapered butt, with further studs and butt cap with floral with central stud. CONDITION: Fine, retaining an very clean in-the-white appearance. Metal appears to have been very gently cleaned at one point. One braised repair on left side of action, near rear screw; one chip on right side, near top screw, that exposes threads. Action works appropriately, tap lever throws smoothly, bores are excellent, smooth, bright, and shiny. This is a highly attractive and very well executed example of the Belgian quad barrel tap action pistols. EW
