Wells Fargo artifacts from the "Old West" period are avidly collected and sought after, none more so than the iconic stagecoach "strongbox". This example has all the wear and charm that collectors look for. Beautiful green paint with "WELLS FARGO & CO." painted on the front in white. Original iron trim around the top, held in place with heavy rivets. Original iron strap style hinges, hasp, corner protectors, and reinforcement straps. Complete with correct bronze lock and key marked:"WF&CO EX." Original heavy "harness leather" strap handles on each end. CONDITION: Well worn with no structural damage. Showing heavy natural patina. Nicely aged interior with original labels inside top. A beautiful Wells Fargo, "Old West Strongbox". -MKS-
