Manufactured in 1926. Produced by Simson in Suhl to equip the post-World War I German Army. Most of the Simson production were assembled from used guns and just rebuilt and reissued in accordance to the Treaty of Versailles. A very limited group are actually made by Simson and dated on the chamber and have the Simson & Co Suhl marked toggle. This example serial number 1011b and chamber dated 1926 is fully matching including magazine. Proofed with Simson eagle 33 proofs as well as numerous Simson sub proofs. Checkered walnut grips with matching numbers and proofs. Nickel sheet metal magazine with alloy base and matching number and proofs. Front strap marked S.H. 561 (Prussian Police). Pistol has had the 1933 mandated police magazine safety installed. These dual issued pistols cover a vast period of use and continued service through World War II. CONDITION: Very good as police reworked with Prussian Police markings and safety. Retains 90% blue on barrel/upper and toggle. Frame retains 60% blue with grip straps worn and turned patina. Magazine is very good with frosted nickel finish and matching numbers and proofs. Police safety has been deactivated as most are. All markings are crisp and legible. Bore is very good and action operates properly. Grips are very good with sharp checkering points and matching numbers and proofs. TDW
