Lot consists of (A) Heinrich Koch made O/U combination rifle/shotgun with top bore in 9.3x72R and under bore in 16 gauge. Bead front sight and notch rear sight set into solid machine matted rib. Underside of shotgun barrel with crudely soldered sling loop. Normal German proofs throughout. Small splinter forend. Receiver with light engraving. Under lever opener. Double triggers, front set. Pistol grip stock checkered in point pattern at wrist with horn buttcap and pancake cheekpiece. Horn buttplate. CONDITION: Fair. Silver solder job is crude and wildly oversoldered. Barrels essentially brown with some flashes of blue in protected areas. Receiver with somewhat more blue, but old oxidation throughout. Forearm with split on left side and at base. Stock has been gently sanded and revarnished with some softness to checkering as a result. One chip at top of left sidepanel, numerous dings and bruises to the stock as a result of use. Horn is intact. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are both excellent with some minor frosting. (B) Gotthilf and Nordheim drilling with bead front sight and pop-up rifle rear controlled by a tang mounted lever, barrels with "Gotthilf and Nordheim" and "Mehlis" inlaid in silver.. Round bodies frame with back action locks engraved with Germanic florals, deer, rabbits, and ducks. Filed cocks with simple engraving. Double triggers, front set. Pistol grip stock with horn cap and checkered in point pattern. Pancake cheekpiece. Horn buttplate. toe compartment with woodcock and lightly scratched on interior "AUGUST 1908 6,140 Ernest (?)". CONDITION: Very good, barrels retain much of their black with some lifting of the silver inlay with some dings and old oxidation. Forearm is very good with an extra layer of varnish added for preservation. Buttstock with one crack running completely through wrist and one chip at tang. Action is very good with crisp engraving and a few areas of old oxidation. Action works appropriately, bores are fair with extensive frosting throughout. EW
