Lot consists of a French Mle 36/51, Mle 36, and Mle 1949 bolt and semi-automatic rifles. (A) Mle 36/51 manufactured by St. Etienne. "C.A.I" import stamp on left side of receiver. Matching numbers include the receiver and bolt. Complete with leather sling, 1951 dated "MAS" rubber butt pad, and bayonet. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their arsenal applied phosphate finish, showing few areas of minor wear. Good bore, with evidence of firing, but retaining good rifling throughout. Wood components show some handling marks, but are overall very good. (B) MLE 1949 manufactured by St. Etienne. "C.A.I." import stamp under barrel. Matching numbers include the receiver, trigger guard, butt stock, and forend. Complete with spike bayonet. CONDITION: Metal components retain most of their arsenal applied phosphate finish, showing wear from use all around. High edge wear is showing through to silvering. Bore shows evidence of firing, but is bright and retains good rifling throughout. Wood components show many scattered handling marks. (C) MLE 1936 manufactured by St. Etienne. Rifle does not appear to be import marked. Matching numbers include the receiver, bolt, floorplate, trigger guard, butt stock, and forend. Stamp on buttstock bears the year 1940. Bayonet is not present. CONDITION: Metal components retain a fair amount of their black baked finish, showing wear and thinning all around. Bore shows evidence of firing, but is bright and retains strong rifling throughout. Stock shows handling and storage marks all around. MLW
