Springfield manufactured 1868 style Trapdoor with breechblock dated 1869 over "(Eagle) / (Crossed arrows) / U.S.". Rifled barrel with adjustable rear sight with added hood on front of barrel. Undated lock with Eagle and U.S. Springfield markings. Walnut wood stock with iron furniture. Illegible cartouche with U.S. marked buttplate. CONDITION: Overall poor condition with metal surfaces pitted and fading to a dark plum color. Missing ramrod, rear sling swivel and front sling swivel. Wood has dark appearance with heavy usage marks. Dark bore with good mechanics. DLM
