Two piece paste board box with green label featuring scroll style borders and marked "50 CARTRIDGES/FOR/HENRY'S REPEATING RIFLE". Designed by Benjamin Tyler Henry in the late 1850's, this .44 caliber, copper-cased, rimfire-primed cartridge containing 26 grains of black powder behind a 216 grain conical bullet led to the development of the famous 16-shot Henry Repeating rifle. Box is complete with 50 original cartridges with raised "H" head stamps in a sharply defined circle and "flat nosed" conical lead bullets. CONDITION: Excellent overall. Box is solid with no visible repairs. Label is bright with moderate scuffs. Cartridges are unmolested with nice patina. Very desirable and rare box. -MKS-
