Produced in the later 1860s period. Wonderful gold inlaid French Lefaucheux Pinfire revolver with fluted octagon barrel with solid rib. Round six shot cylinder with profuse gold wire inlay in geometric designs and floral finials. Frame is similarly inlaid with gold wire borders. Fitted with a wonderful set of carved ivory grips with embossed vines carved into sides with subdued background. Rarely found in such a state of preservation this ornate Pinfire revolver was most likely cased at an earlier period, explaining its lack of use and superb condition. CONDITION: Extremely fine with little or no actual use indicated. Very slight finish loss is evident at leading edges of muzzle and probably from storage. The action operates properly and smoothly. The grips are excellent and have toned wonderfully. A very exceptional pinfire. TDW
