Produced in the 1860-70s. This peculiar pinfire revolver has a rotating recoil shield to facilitate in loading/unloading. Double action design with the makers name A. Pliers on right barrel flat. The name L. Ghaye is stamped on the face of the cylinder. A very unusual ejector rod system underneath the barrel swivels to the right and elides through the chamber of the cylinder to eject spent cartridges. This system and another example with the same markings is found on page 167 of Smith & Cutis's book "THE PINFIRE SYSTEM". 6" round barrel with octagon rear with six shot 9mm pinfire cylinder that is tastefully engraved with a spray of vines. The gun is fitted with a checkered walnut pair of grips. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with little actual use indicated. The action operates smoothly and properly. The bore is very fine. The gun retains most all of its original high polish blue on the barrel and cylinder. The frame appears to have been left in the whit as no evidence of blue finish exist. TDW
