Possibly factory engraved. Well executed foliate scrolls with stippled backgrounds located on the frame, back strap, barrel, and butt. Fancy borders along edge of frame. Standard 6 - 1/2" barrel with target sights. Beautiful, mellow mother of pearl two piece grips with deep dished S&W medallions. CONDITION: Excellent overall with 98% reapplied nickel finish. Grips have a wonderful honey tone patina. 98% reapplied case color on hammer and trigger guard. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is very good showing moderate abrasion. Overall a most attraction revolver. -MKS-
CORRECTION:This gun comes with a copy of a factory letter stating that it is factory engraved and was custom built for a Professor John Loris of Washington D.C. who was a famous target shooter in the early 1890's and early 1900's. Also included is a copy of one of Professor Loris' shooting posters.
