An Italian Sterling Silver and Wood constructively shaped silver teapot produced by Rossi & Arcandi, silversmiths, for Cleto Munari after a design by Ukrainian Artist Kazimir Malevich (1879-1935). It is hallmarked on the base with silver standard, manufacturer marks, city mark, designer-signet as well as numbered and dated. It is further numbered 26 – 50 that were ever produced. C. 1987. The teapot comes in the typical cubist-constructivist shapes of the Russian avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich. The body of the pot is subdivided several times. The C-shaped handle is mounted on a cylinder covered by a chambered lid. The cylinder blend into a multi-tiered vessel with a flared sprout. The pot is part of a tea service that first was executed in porcelain by the State Porcelain Manufacturer in Leningrad.
