Hallwig was born and raised in Baltimore and established himself as a portrait painter, having studied under his father, Oscar Hallwig. He received a degree from the Maryland Institute and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. CONDITION: Relined. Scattered minor inpainting.
