Springfield manufactured 1847 Musketoon similar to the cavalry variation with the exception that this one does not have a saddle ring bar. Smoothbore barrel with blade front sight. Percussion lock dated 1853 with Springfield mark and "(eagle) / US" mark. Tang dated 1851. Walnut stock with brass hardware. Correct ramrod missing retaining chain. CONDITION: Gun has been cleaned. Wood has light dings and handling marks with some visible number markings. Shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
