1884 vintage Winchester Model 1876 lever action 3rd model rifle, serial number 46977. 28" octagon barrel chambered for .45-75 Winchester Centerfire with full length magazine tube, sporting rear sight, and German silver blade front. 2 piece plain walnut stock and forearm complete with rifle forearm cap and rifle buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Good, with almost all of the original finish turning to a brown patina with areas of heavy wear and some traces of original bluing in protected areas. Cartridge elevator is turning a pleasing mustard patina. Stock and forearm are fair to good as partially sanded with finish added and heavy wear and some slight shrinkage from age. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is dark with signs of heavy use and weak rifling. Judging by the wear patterns on this rifle, it could tell some interesting stories if it could speak. -TN-
