Colt U.S. Marked Single Action Army revolver. 7 - 1/2" barrel chambered in .45 LC. Blue with case hardened frame and hammer. 1 piece walnut grips. 1874 U.S. Government serial number range, 4812 located on barrel under the ejector housing, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. Ainsworth "A" inspection stamp observed on trigger guard only. Letter "C" observed in frame hammer slot. Accompanying revolver is a "Kopec Letter" dated March 7, 1990 and signed John A. Kopec. The letter documents "Custer Range" serial number. Letter further documents replaced base pin, firing pin, grips, several screws, and ejector tube dowel. Letter observes surface of revolver having been coated with an artificial browning solution. CONDITION: Very good overall with artificially applied brown "patina". Bore is turning dark, with good rifling. Cylinder does not index properly. Grips are loose. -MKS-
