Lot consists of: (A) Colt Model 1862 Police percussion revolver. Made 1864. Top of the barrel marked "ADDRESS COLT SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA". Round, rifled steel barrel with brass front post sight. Case hardened frame marked "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side. Brass trigger guard and grip straps marked "36 CAL". Hardwood grips with an oil finish. Fluted 5-shot cylinder is marked "PAT SEPT. 10th 1850" in one of the flutes. Serials on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard and butt all match. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with a patina covering most of the parts. Grip straps show signs of heavy cleaning. Grips are very good with minor handling marks and scratches. Good bore overall with sharp rifling left. Mechanically fine. Hammer and cylinder show some amount of side to side movement. Nipples show signs of heavy use. (B) Colt 1862 Pocket Navy percussion revolver. Made 1861. Top of the barrel marked "ADDRESS COLT SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA". Octagon steel barrel with brass front post sight. Case hardened frame marked "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side. Brass trigger guard and grip straps marked "36 CAL". Hardwood grips with an oil finish. 5-shot cylinder with stagecoach scene engraved on the cylinder. Serials on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard and butt all match. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with a nice patina on most areas. Grip straps and trigger guard show signs of heavy cleaning. Grips are very good with minor handling marks. Fair bore with some minor pitting, but retains sharp rifling. Hammer and cylinder are tight. Mechanically fine. Nipples show signs of typical use. JWA
