Springfield Model 1896 Bolt Action Carbine with 22" round barrel, chambered in .30-40 Krag (.30 Army). Carbine rear sight, correctly marked "C" in the top right hand corner and blade front sight. Plain, walnut stock with single barrel band, saddle ring, and buttplate with trapdoor compartment for cleaning rod. GSA 1897 dated cartouche visible on left side of stock near saddle ring with Circle P on bottom of wrist. CONDITION: Very good with metal parts faded to a pleasing mottled gray patina and some light freckling and storage marks throughout. Stock very good with finish added and some light usage marks throughout. The inspector cartouche has been touched up and made sharper. Action works correctly. Bore is frosted with worn rifling. -TN-
