1921 vintage Winchester Model 1895 lever action carbine serial number 400809 with 22" barrel chambered in .30-40 Krag (.30 Army), military ladder rear sight, and blade front. Two piece plain walnut carbine stock and forearm with saddle ring and carbine buttplate with buttplate trap with an unmarked pull-through style brush and jag inside. CONDITION: Very good as untouched and original with barrel retaining almost all of its original bluing and receiver assembly covered in light freckling from storage and beginning to turn to a brown-gray patina. Stock and forearm are excellent and strong with almost all of the original finish remaining. Slight dents and scratches at wrist of stock but no discernible cracks. Action works correctly and locks tightly. Thick, cosmoline style grease in action and chamber. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves. Pull-through cleaning equipment is covered in green corrosion and grease, pull-string has become disconnected over time but is still present. Overall a great example of an iconic Winchester rifle that would go well in any Winchester collection. -TN-
