Lot consists of: (A) British Pattern 1853 rifled musket with Snider cartridge breech conversion. Round blued rifled barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. "L" marked conversion done at Lithgow. Percussion lock marked "Enfield" and dated 1858. Walnut full musket stock with brass hardware with "Enfield" marking in ring on right side and "DC" in diamond for "Dominion of Canada". CONDITION: 60% original blue with surface pitting near muzzle. Lock turning a plum color. Wood has 50% original finish with light handling marks and dings. Dark bore with visible rifling and good mechanics. (B) British Pattern 1853 Enfield rifled musket dated 1864. Round rifled barrel with blade front sight and notched rear sight and a usual marking at breech possibly indicating Indian manufacturing. Percussion lock marked "Enfield" and dated 1864 with Crown marking on rear. Walnut full musket stock with three iron barrel bands. Brass nose piece, trigger guard, and buttplate. Comes with steel ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with metal having light coat of surface rust and brass parts a dark yellow color. Wood has heavy usage marks with oil-soaked appearance. Dark bore full of cosmoline. Good mechanics. DLM
